Hakuba Village is fortunate enough to receive a lot of snow during the winter. Therefore, it is a mecca for winter sports. When the Olympics were held in Nagano in 1998, Hakuba Village was one of the places where competitions such as cross country races, alpine related events and ski jumping competitions were held. These were certainly very heated competitions. To this very day the International Ski Federation holds events such as the Paralympics and the Continental Cup in the village.
The Hakuba Goryu Ski Resort has a lift just like any other resort;
however, the ski resort goes above and beyond other ski resorts’
standards and provides its customers with 2 gondolas to use. The resort
offers a wide variety of ski courses to choose from as well. There are a
variety of courses to choose from in accordance to the skier’s skill life.
These are a range of courses including ones for total beginners to ones
for advanced skiers. Therefore, everyone will be able to find a course
that suits them best at the resort. Hakuba47 is a course that many
relatively advanced skiers enjoy. Skiing down the course from the mountain portion of Hakuba47 is also an option.
People who are used to skiing can ski to their heart’s content if they
have a one day pass. If you purchase a plan that includes tickets for
the lift you will be able to have a good time experiencing all of the
winter sports in the area at a great low price!
